Professional Profile

Julieanne has more than 25 years' experience leading organisations across the arts, health and not-for-profit sectors in Australia and internationally. She is known for her ability to develop and implement strategy, build high-performing teams, grow fundraising income and strengthen stakeholder relationships in complex organisational environments.

Her career began as a journalist in Jakarta, where she became involved in cultural exchange between Indonesia and Australia. She then moved to New York, where she worked with two of the city's most highly regarded arts marketing firms, Blue Medium and Fitz & Co, developing international clients including Art Basel, the Guggenheim Museum and the Venice Biennale. This international experience gives her a distinctive perspective on brand positioning, audience development and cross-cultural engagement.

As a co-founder and Director of Cobalt59, Julieanne contributes strategic, governance and stakeholder expertise to the firm's consulting and evaluation work. She brings particular insight into how organisations can strengthen performance, build trust with stakeholders and navigate complex operating environments with clarity and purpose.

Executive Director — Griffin Theatre Company

Julieanne has led Griffin Theatre Company as Executive Director since 2021, overseeing strategy, operations and stakeholder engagement for one of Australia's most respected independent theatre companies. This role draws on her deep experience in arts leadership, organisational management and audience development.

General Manager, Development — Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation

Julieanne joined the Foundation as Head of Philanthropy in 2019 and was promoted to the Executive as General Manager, Development, where she was responsible for a team of 20 and accountable for 60% of the Foundation's $50 million fundraising income. This role demonstrated her capacity to lead large fundraising operations and deliver results at scale in a major health charity.

General Manager — Performance Space, Parramasala and Urban Theatre Projects

Julieanne served as General Manager for three of Australia's leading contemporary arts organisations over more than a decade. At Performance Space she led operations for eight years, building the organisation's profile and sustainability. She went on to lead Parramasala, an international contemporary arts festival, and Urban Theatre Projects, where she developed successful philanthropy programs and strengthened organisational governance.

Chair — Force Majeure and PACT Centre for Emerging Artists

Julieanne has served on several boards, including as Chair of Force Majeure and Chair of PACT Centre for Emerging Artists, and as a board member of Theatre Network NSW. These governance roles reflect her commitment to sector leadership and her ability to guide organisations through strategic and operational challenges.
